The Service Demonstrations division provides professional development and support to family support centers of Allegheny County and the infrastructure of the family support system. This includes the Family Support Policy Board (of which the majority of members are family support parent leaders, and the remainder are other community stakeholders and leaders) and its committees (Executive, Quality Assurance, and Advocacy), the Roundtable (lead agencies for the centers), Site Directors Network, and Community Voices (parents from all centers across the County). Close to 4,000 families are enrolled in family support centers, and over 200 staff receive opportunities for professional growth through this program.
Office of Child Development staff provide training and
technical assistance services to communities, agencies, programs and people who
implement or seek to implement family support principles on behalf of children
and families in Allegheny County.
