Though consultations are individualized, the consultation process often contains one or more of the following components: Observation of a young child in the classroom; Working with an early care and education practitioner to identify a young child’s areas of strength and need; Development of a specific action plan related to an individual young child’s social and emotional development; Help for early learning practitioners and/or administrators to communicate with parents; Assistance with referral of a young child and his or her family for specialized services.
